Recipe Card - JessQuick (BisQuick Substitute)

I use this recipe ALL THE TIME!! It can be used in any recipe that calls for BisQuick – my girls especially love Jess-Quick Waffles. (The recipe will be shared here soon!)

I recently had the privilege of testing several new products available from Bannerwoman Design's. I really love them all!

The first new product is a set of 12 pearl like Photoshop styles created with small elements up to 3” in mind - they are ideal on elements 1” to 1.5". However, they are seamless and can be used on elements of any size. There is a 'smaller' version included as well for those delicate 'thin' elements. Great for alphas, beads and 'jewel' type elements.

The next new product is a set of 8 parched paper Photoshop styles created with papers and larger elements in mind. However, they are seamless and can be used on elements of any size. These styles will create grayscale papers which can be used to create colored papers by overlaying a color on them either in your layer style or by flooding a new layer and changing the blend mode. (The paper used for the ‘title’ was made using this style!)

The third product is a set of 8 worn edge Photoshop styles created with papers and larger elements in mind. However, they are seamless and can be used on elements of any size. You may have to make minor adjustments when using on smaller/thinner elements such as doodles. (I personally loved the effect when creating 4x6 papers for recipe cards and brag book pages!)

Chat about great new styles AND Recipe Card - Mayonnaise

Today’s recipe is for mayonnaise. I don’t make this very often any more since I have found a brand at the health food store without soy or milk products. HOWEVER, that store is over an hour away and I do make mayonnaise when it is going to be awhile before we plan to go shopping again.

Recipe Card - Jello Cookies

My 5yo LOVES these cookies. Usually, I only cook one pan. The other cookies are frozen on cookie sheets & moved to ziplock bags. My husband prefers to allow the cookies to thaw before baking, but I just allow an extra few minutes & cook them straight from the freezer.

Recipe Card - Heavy Cream Substitute

This recipe was 'tweaked' from a couple of different suggestions I read when looking for substitutions for ingredients when cooking. When we first discovered that my youngest had food allergies, our meal menus became VERY limited. I found that the suggested substitutions for milk products contained soy and the suggestions for soy products contained milk products. Since she is allergic to both, I had to look hard for substitutions. While I only have a couple of recipes that call for heavy cream, it is nice that I can make them for our family!

Recipe Card - Graham Crackers

I haven't made these in awhile because I found a brand at the health food store without soy or milk products! Coconut oil works well as a substitute for the shortening in this recipe - but the crackers will have the coconut flavor. I made pie crusts with the coconut oil version crackers & they were a big hit!

Recipe Card - EASY Biscuits

BJ (Before Jessi) I didn't cook very often. Biscuits were usually canned, frozen (for special occasions) or from a restaurant. I went from rarely baking to baking every day! Since I work and my children participate in numerous extracurricular activities, I depend on EASY recipes. This recipe is easy to 'throw together'! I generally make several 'mixes' each month after I do our grocery shopping. (This just involves putting the dry ingredients into mason jars & labeling - the recipes have been printed & placed inside the cabinet doors!)
